LOOKING FOR PRESENT MOTION

Looking for Present Motion was my second major exhibition showing results of the painting process I started experimenting with in 2012.  The paintings were the result of a printing process that visualized the multiple potential evolutions of an original diagram under different environmental factors and the capillarity of water. The exhibition was designed as a multimedia immersive experience in collaboration with Retrieving Beirut and included collaborations by Mme Chandelier in a participatory sound installation and Ahlam Dirani & Fernando Wanderley in a Butoh performance filmed by Maria Zalloum.

As the bulldozers come closer can we attune our bodies and minds to the pulse of the valley?

How can the multimedia setups we create support the audience’s making of meaning?
Can abstract art buid bridges with concrete activism?
What is the relationship between our personal practice and our social practice ?
